Yankees down South :)

Mom, Dad, Josh and Lindsey left yesterday. Here are some more pictures from their visit.

They loved being downtown at the waterfront park. We liked having them with us!
My third child with no fear. She thought she could handle walking down this plank with no problem. Just like she thinks she can handle the waves at the beach and the top of the kitchen table (which is where I found her this morning). Like her skirt Grandmom Jeanie?Ryleigh gets her climbing ideas from her brothers.

This was the first time I really let her walk around at the park. She thought she was hot stuff. She also thought she was hot stuff with shoes on. Since it is so hot here, I don't usually put shoes on her. But, I figured she would need them at the park. So I tried several on her that morning, to see which ones fit the best. When I took of the first pair, after she had walked around in them for a minute, she throw a fit! She screamed the whole time I was putting on the next pair, but as soon as I stood her up with the next pair on, she immediately stopped screaming and started prancing around in her shoes. She might act like a boy, but she has the attitude of a girl!
Aiden and Josh having fun on the "ship" at the park.
Me with tired kiddos.
Taking a break in a shady spot after our walk to the Chocolate Tree.
Dad, with the kiddo's while mom and I went in the Coffee House to get some iced coffee.Enjoying our iced coffee on the waterfront.
Dad loved being near the water. How do you like his new hat? See the bridge in the distance (pic below)? That is the one that was hit by a barge in April and just reopened. That one bridge being closed caused major chaos on this little town.
Aiden and Kyle getting a lift back to the truck from Granddad. We also went to the beach twice, but I forgot my camera both times. Thanks for coming down to visit and bringing the boys home!

The Birthday

In keeping with the tradition that I grew up with on birthdays, Aiden got to pick the menu for the day. Growing up we would end up having some pretty interesting things for some of the younger kids birthdays, but Aiden kept it simple, though not too healthy! He wanted chocolate donuts for breakfast, McDonald's for lunch and pepperoni pizza for dinner. So, of course that is what we had. :) No arguing over veggies for this birthday boy!The morning presents. We let him open his presents from Mom, Dad, Josh and Lindsey and a few little ones from us, as soon as he got up.Then it was on to McDonald's!!Do you think this kid is happy or what??From McDonald's we went to the waterfront park. I love this pic of Ryleigh, it looks like she is screaming to get out. She probably was, that girl is loud!Time for homemade pizza!!Ryleigh loves pizza, she ate as much as the boys.We waited for Daddy to get home for the rest of the presents and cake.A Dairy Queen ice cream cake (thanks Grandmom Port!)I think Aiden enjoyed the day! :)Jason could hardly get a piece of cake in his mouth before Ryleigh would start squealing for more. I can't believe she doesn't weigh more, the way she eats.
At the end of the day, playing with new toys.

Aiden is already planning his next birthday! He thinks it is so far away, I know it will be here before I know it......

Happy 5th Birthday Aiden Patrick!!!!

Aiden turned 5 years old today!! I did not want this day to come, Aiden turning 5 is a very sad day for me. It just seems like today is the end of the baby years (jeez I am getting teary eyed just writing that), and now the school years begins. We have enjoyed Aiden's toddler years more than I could ever express in writing. He brings a smile to our face every single day. From the way he giggles when he first sees you in the morning, to the way he loves to be sung lullaby's at night, he fills our hearts. He is eager to please and quick to learn, he has a stubborn streak, (that he gets very honestly from me) a very tender heart towards his girls (me and Ryleigh), and wants to be able to do everything that his Daddy can do. Having a 4 year old has been so much fun, we look forward to what year 5 brings.

Here are a few (not really!) pics from the last 5 years. I can't really say they are my favorite, just ones that I found quickly! It took me all day, a little at a time, to get this done. In between lunch at McDonald's, a trip to the park and making pizza for the big birthday. :)

Jason holding Aiden for the first time, yes, he is crying. (Jason, not Aiden)
